Knoxville Catholic Football Head Coach Charged With DUI

The head football coach at Knoxville Catholic is facing charges of driving under the influence and drug possession. Authorities stopped Stephen Matthews at the intersection of Alcoa Highway and Maloney Road Thursday.

Officers say Matthews admitted to having three or four beers but refused to take a field sobriety test. Officers also say they found hydrocodone in his vehicle and Matthews was unable to provide a prescription for it. He is set to appear in court in early May.
