The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into a shooting that involved an officer from the Bean Station Police Department.

Their preliminary information indicates the incident happened Saturday afternoon at a home in the 1800 block of County Line Road after an officer went there as part of an ongoing vehicle theft investigation.

After the officer arrived, TBI says he approached a man who soon ran from the scene, which resulted in a brief foot chase where the man reportedly fired at the officer, which led to the officer returning fire and striking and injuring the man, who is in stable condition.

No law enforcement officers were hurt in the incident.
