Man Charged after Setting Knoxville Car, Home on Fire, KFD Says

Knoxville, TN (WOKI) A man is facing several charges after setting two fires Sunday at a Knoxville home.

Knoxville Fire Department officials say 28-year-old Shameel Stenson was taken into custody at an abandoned house in the Mechanicsville neighborhood.

KFD says Stenson set a car on fire at a James Avenue home, then after fire crews left the address, set the home itself on fire, prompting another KFD response.

According to charging documents, three people were at home when Stenson set the fires though officials report “no one was injured in either fire.”

Stenson was charged with aggravated arson and burning personal property; he is currently being held at the Knox County Detention Facility.
