Vonore, TN (WOKI) An investigation is underway in Monroe County following an officer-involved shooting Monday night.

Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation say the incident happened at a home in the 900 block of Smokey Branch Road in Vonore.

TBI says the sheriff’s office had responded to serve a warrant for domestic assault when the suspect, who hasn’t been identified, shot a deputy.

According to officials, deputies returned fire hitting the suspect who is being treated at a hospital. They say the deputy who got shot suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
