Parking Changes Coming to Downtown Knoxville

Knoxville, TN (WOKI) New meters and signs will soon go up in Downtown Knoxville as part of the city’s revised downtown parking plan.

The city unveiled the plan last fall, following a parking study. It increases rates for two-hour and four-hour parking zones but keeps parking at night and on the weekends free. The plan also reduces 10-hour maximum zones to four-hour maximum zones.

Starting March 10, fees for the two-hour zone go from $1.50 to $2.00 an hour. The four-hour zone increases from $0.30 to $1.00 an hour.

The city is also implementing the use of ParkMobile for on-street parking payments.

City staff will start replacing parking signs and meters beginning March 1.
