A woman taken to the hospital and an investigation is underway after a house fire in northwest Knoxville.

Knoxville Fire Department Crews called to a fire in a bedroom in the 4200 block of Thornwood Drive last night (Tuesday) and found light smoke coming from the front of the home.

Crews put the fire out quickly, keeping it from spreading to the rest of the home.

A woman was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, no word on her injuries.

A man, two dogs, and one rabbit escaped unharmed.

The home has suffered mild smoke and water damage.
