A Mississippi man is arrested in Oliver Springs after he leading police on a chase in a stolen U-Haul truck.

Oliver Springs Police Officers tried to stop 40-year-old Cameron Simpson, of Gulfport, Mississippi, after a Flock camera identified the stolen U-Haul truck.

Police pursued him down Harriman Highway and into the Blair and Clax Gap communities. He eventually went off the roadway on Webster Road and abandoned the truck, leading police on a foot chase.

He was later found Simpson trying to hide inside a home on Old Suddath Road and took him into custody.

He was charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and reckless driving. He also had active warrants in Roane County.
