Knoxville Police are Searching for a Man Wanted on Two Counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder and Other Charges

Homicide Unit detectives are attempting to locate 32-year-old Willie Tolbert, of Knoxville. Tolbert is wanted for two counts of attempted first-degree murder, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and additional weapon charges following a shooting that happened on Wednesday night. 

At around 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, KPD officers responded to an alley behind a home in the 2300 block of Brooks Avenue, where Tolbert allegedly fired multiple rounds at two other men. Neither man was struck by the gunfire. 

Following the shooting, Tolbert fled the scene in a black Mercedes with Washington state tags. 

Anyone with information concerning Tolbert’s whereabouts is asked to contact East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers anonymously at 865-215-7165. Tipsters can be eligible to receive a cash reward.
