Morristown Officers Make Arrest after String of Overdose Deaths, Police Say

Morristown, TN (WOKI) Police in Morristown arrest a White Pine woman Monday morning for her involvement in a string of overdose deaths that occurred in January in Morristown and Hamblen counties.

MPD officials say 24-year-old Ashlyn Jade Henry was indicted by a federal grand jury in Greeneville and has been charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and fentanyl, three counts of distribution of fentanyl resulting in death, and two counts of distribution of fentanyl resulting in serious bodily injury.

“I commend all the officers and agencies involved in this operation for their dedication throughout the investigation and the work they have done,” said MPD Chief Roger Overholt.

MPD adds the investigation went on for several months, and they were assisted by the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the White Pine Police Department.
