Dryer Fire Displaces Residents at Knoxville Apartment Complex

A dryer fire causes damage to two apartments in northwest Knoxville.

Knoxville Fire Department crews were called to Cross Creek Apartments Saturday and saw smoke coming from the upper floor of one of the apartment buildings. Crews found fire in the ceiling.

Two people and a dog were living in the affected apartment and the only only person at home at the time suffered minor burns to their hands while attempting to use a fire extinguisher.

They were able get out with the dog. There were no injuries to firefighters to report.

The apartment with the fire had significant fire, water, and smoke damage. The apartment underneath suffered minor water damage.
