Jason Miller, senior advisor to President-elect Donald Trump, told Newsmax on Friday that those GOP senators who are standing in the way of some Cabinet picks should remember that President-elect Donald Trump is “right on the issues.”
While most Republicans senators are on board with Trump’s nominations, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska and Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, are two such lawmakers who have been resistant to some of the choices. Miller said they should remember that anyone “in elected office is accountable to the voters.”
“When you look at the mandate of winning the popular vote, President Trump is where the voters are in this country. You look at the coalition he put together, pulling people from all sorts of traditional Democrat constituencies, increasing his numbers in states across the board. President Trump even did better in Alaska than Senator Murkowski on her last election. But the important thing here is that he’s right on the issues,” Miller said during an appearance on “The Chris Salcedo Show.”
