Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, predicted to Newsmax on Monday that illegal immigration will “plummet” on Jan. 20, the day President-elect Donald Trump assumes the presidency.
Cruz told “Rob Schmitt Tonight” that of all the mandates delivered by the American people on Nov. 5, securing the border was the “clearest.”
“Well, Rob, it’s going to be extraordinary. There are many things that came out of the election in November, but the clearest mandate of all is a mandate to secure the border and to do it now,” Cruz said. “And I believe on Jan. 20, we’re going to see a dramatic sea change. We’re going to see President Trump issue a whole series of executive orders.
